Cylindrical Neonatal Phototherapy
It has two models of 12 or 16 LED lamps for phototherapy in a cylindrical environment. It has 2 Off/On keys to enable half of the lamps to be turned on. It has two timers to display the lifespan of the first and second key lamps separately. It has a digital LCD display with the ability to display the temperature inside the device, the baby’s body temperature, the duration of phototherapy, and the lifespan of the lamps. It has a light therapy timer with the ability to adjust the light therapy time by the user. It has a chamber temperature sensor and a baby’s body temperature sensor with an accuracy of 0.1 degrees Celsius. It has the ability to increase the power to lower the baby’s bilirubin due to the increase in the effective power of the radiation up to 5 times that of flat phototherapy due to the baby being placed on a mesh mattress in the center of the cylinder and the light radiating in a 360-degree direction. It has a fan to ventilate the air inside the chamber. It has a sliding tray for easy placement of the baby inside the device with a mesh mattress and a washable protective screen. It has four silent wheels for easy transportation, two of which are lockable. It has a transparent viewing window for direct observation of the baby inside. Device

A phototherapy device designed to irradiate premature or newborn infants with visible light with a high blue component (wavelength 450 nm) to treat high bilirubin (such as jaundice). The effect of this light is to convert water-insoluble bilirubin into water-soluble photoproducts that are often excreted in the bile. A neonatal phototherapy device is a medical device used to treat jaundice (hyperbilirubinemia) in newborns. Neonatal jaundice is caused by a buildup of bilirubin in the blood, a yellow substance produced by the breakdown of old red blood cells. The liver of newborns, especially premature infants, is often not mature enough to process and excrete bilirubin effectively. This buildup of bilirubin causes the baby’s skin and eyes to turn yellow.
Phototherapy uses special light to convert bilirubin into a form that the baby’s body can more easily excrete. The light used in this device is usually in the blue-green range with a wavelength of about 460 to 490 nanometers. This light converts bilirubin into water-soluble isomers that are excreted in the urine or feces.
A phototherapy device includes a light source, LED or fluorescent lamps, a container or bed for the baby to lie on, and sometimes a protective cover to prevent direct contact of the light with the baby’s skin. During treatment, the baby is usually placed under the light with only a diaper and eye protection so that the maximum surface area of the skin is exposed to the light. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the jaundice and can last from a few hours to a few days.
Using a phototherapy device is a safe and effective way to treat jaundice in newborns. However, close monitoring of the baby’s body temperature, hydration, and bilirubin levels is essential during treatment to prevent side effects such as dehydration or heatstroke. In severe cases of jaundice where conventional phototherapy is not sufficient, other methods such as blood exchange may be used. Overall, phototherapy plays a vital role in preventing serious complications of jaundice, such as kernicterus (brain damage caused by high bilirubin), and helps babies recover quickly and safely.
